What is Spiritualism?

The main discrepancy between Spiritualism and the mainstream religions is that they talk and promise an afterlife, but we actually try and prove there is an afterlife.
Spiritualism does not have set doctrines and traditions to follow; it is a personal choice for the churches.
Spiritualism is about diversity in beliefs, built generally upon the following basic principles.

  • The continuation of life after the physical body dies
  • The ability to communicate with our loved ones and friends (Spirit) after their physical body dies
  • Spiritualism is more than a religion; it is a way of life. The philosophy and diversity of life.
  • Personal responsibility - You have freewill. Do not blame others or Spirit for your mistakes.
  • A Universal God (something greater than us that defies description, but like: a Universal subconscious, a cosmic energy, spiritual perfection - but certainly not a free thinking ‘Great Spirit’ who will judge us and decide our fate. Please note you do not have to believe in God to be a Spiritualist)
  • Spiritualism is not an elite, rigid religion, it is a fluid religion. It is not elite in the fact that we believe Spiritualism is the one true religion, because all spiritual paths/religions lead to ‘God’, and you have freewill to choose what spiritual pathway is best for you.
It is not elite in the sense that you must follow it, and to show interest in another religion will be frowned upon.
Spiritualism is fluid in the sense that we are always building upon our foundations as we grow spiritually, and we welcome people from all walks of life and all religions; but we do not expect people to stay.
We hope people can take something from our philosophy of life and incorporate it into their daily life thus providing a better quality of life not only from an inner spiritual perspective but exhibit a better outward attitude.
