Negative Activity

What is negative Spirit activity? What do we mean by negative Spirit? When we die and leave our physical body we do not literally become ‘angels’, our personality and flaws continue. So the charity uses the term negative Spirit to refer to the Spirit of an individual who has ‘died’ and while alive were not a very pleasant person. For instance, they may have been cruel, spiteful, manipulative, domineering to the extent of depriving someone of their personal freedom, criminally minded, murderer, violent, enjoyed tormenting people on a physical, emotional and mental level.

Negative Spirit activity involves a negative Spirit drawing close and causing objects to move and smash, making noises like doors slamming, unpleasant smells, voices in the head, electrical interference, feeling of being poked and pushed. A person’s personality may change, for instance, they become aggressive, swear more, withdrawn, accuse people of doing things that are unfounded. In very extreme cases people claim Spirit possession, because the Spirit draws so close they can influence the person via a thought link, but actual physical possession of a body does not happen. The reason we say this is that if Spirit could physically oust us from our bodies, the whole human population would be subjected to Spirit swapping bodies and fighting to control people in authority like Prime ministers and presidents; no man, woman or child would be safe. Therefore, we believe possession is the overwhelming sensation of another separate intelligence that is so close interfering with the physical body energy. The brain registers this interference and interprets these as physical sensations that can be extremely unpleasant for the person. The person is a victim due to their vulnerability and lack of understanding as to what is happening to them, but once the situation is explained and they are empowered with this knowledge, given encouragement, and with determination the person can begin to take control of the situation and their life.

First of all, not everyone is susceptible to this type of negative Spirit activity, and below is some factors that seem to play a part in attracting unwanted negative Spirit activity. The list is not complete because of the lack of serious research into this subject since the scientific community does not recognise life after death, and therefore does not perceive Spirit activity as a possible contributory factor, but instead all cases are a result of a mental condition, or the events have been made up.

All unwanted Spirit activity may not be a result of negative Spirit activity, but our lack of knowledge and belief in the Spirit World can cause unnecessary fear that if prolonged can make a person ill with worry. Often the fear of madness can be made worse because people around them also do not understand what is happening, especially if the family unit has strong religious beliefs that is anti-Spiritualism, and therefore cannot provide the right support.

Assuming the person does not have a mental condition like schizophrenia, the following are some factors that seem to play a part in attracting unwanted negative activity:

1. The person’s psychic ability has developed without their knowledge and understanding and is attracting Spirit like a lighthouse
2. The person’s body energy is suitable for Spirit to use to produce physical phenomenon
3. The person has very low self-esteem
4. The person is depressed, for instance they may have experienced a loss of a parent/friend
5. The person is extremely unhappy with their life
6. The person is highly suggestible
7. The person is very vulnerable

CAUTION:    We must strongly stress that all cases of negative Spirit activity are not caused by a separate Spirit intelligence but can be a result of the mental condition known as schizophrenia, or the person may simply just be craving attention and is inventing or embellishing the facts. The charity does not have all the answers, for this is a very difficult area to assess, each case has to be judged on its own merits as well as the relevant factors involved. In an ideal world the collaboration between psychiatrist and Medium to help assess a person’s situation in these circumstances would be beneficial not only to the patient but to society. However, it is not an ideal world, and currently the charity is not in the position to help assess a person’s situation, but hope the above has been helpful in some way.

Footnote:    It is worth mentioning that a clinical psychologist in the USA believes that at least 50% of those detained in mental hospitals are not insane but victims of Spirit possession (negative Spirit activity). Therefore, it is highly recommended that research into the effects, if any, of negative Spirit activity in cases of schizophrenia should be undertaken between a Medium and psychiatrist. Please note the Medium should be clairvoyant, clairsentient, clairaudient and has a good working relationship with their Spirit guide.
